The purpose of this position is to perform all duties necessary as assigned by the Mill Manager to maintain maximum production, quality standards, and efficient operations of the Saltwell Chip Mill.
How you will impact WestRock:
1.
Work as a member of the chip yard crew, which is responsible for all operations, maintenance, adjusting, lubrications, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance involved in the handling, storage, and processing of wood to produce chips.
2.
On an occasional basis (up to 4 hours), must be able to exert 10 - 70 lbs.
of force.
This factor is important when installing water pipes, maintaining equipment, and cleaning the yard.
Must be able to push/pull exerting force of 10 -70 lbs.
of force when moving water pipes and operating pumps.
3.
On an occasional basis (up to 4 hours), must be able to climb stairs more than 20 feet when getting to specific areas such as:
equipment and wood piles.
What you need to succeed:
1 to 2 years of training provided on-the-job or may be obtained through satisfactory pre-employment experience.
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency diploma.
Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out verbal/written instructions.
Must be able to understand/apply safety rules/guidelines as they pertain to company standards.
Must be able to perform basic calculations.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
